Renovation of a detached house, formerly three apartments, into a single-family home. A new front porch was built to replicate one that might have existed originally
New two storey house
Interior renovation including removing walls between earlier additions and reconfiguring space to create a large kitchen/great room with new deck access through a revitalized greenhouse window. The 2nd floor was reconfigured to redesign the master suite and create a family room open to the hallway. The traditional exterior was restored with a new entrance canopy as a nod to the contemporary interior.
Complete renovation of a house that had been extensively modified over its history. The interior had to be gutted and was opened up to take advantage of the width and light of the house
Addition
The goal was a 3-storey rear addition that did not visually overwhelm the original house. New and old combine to create a layered architectural interplay. A side entrance and mudroom uses the darkest interior space and provides convenient access. Three bedrooms and a rear-facing family room occupy the second floor. The master suite occupies the 3rd floor with windows on both sides and a hidden deck tucked into the roof of the original house.
